Second Look by GAIP

Check before you buy.

An agent asks
The assistant says this mug is £24, in stock. Is that what the shop's page shows?
GAIP answers
What the page showed beside what was claimed, the time GAIP read it, and a signed receipt at /r/<code>. Facts, not advice.
The call
POST /v1/free/second-look with {"url": "<product link>", "price": 24, "currency": "GBP", "in_stock": true}, or the MCP tool second_look_check

An AI assistant quoted a price. Second Look reads the shop's own page now and gives you, or the agent buying for you, a signed, dated receipt: what the page showed, what was claimed. Free. No affiliate links. Ever.

  1. Paste the product link. The page on the shop's own site.
  2. Say what you were told. Price, stock, size or colour, in plain words.
  3. Read the answer and keep the receipt. The answer is two facts: what the page showed, and what the claim said. Shown as claimed, Shown differently or Couldn't confirm, with a signed, dated receipt you can keep.

In short

What it is
A check of what an AI told you about a product (price, stock, size or colour) against the shop's own page, now.
What to do first
Paste the product link and what you were told into the form on this page, then press Check a price.
What the answer looks like
Two facts, what the page showed beside what the claim said (Shown as claimed, Shown differently or Couldn't confirm), any recall notice found, and a signed, dated receipt you can keep.
What it does not say
GAIP does not recommend the shop or the product; a match says the page showed this at the stated time, nothing more.

One of GAIP's three doors; every question GAIP answers is on what GAIP is and in the record.

The receipt an agent keeps

Every answered check is a signed, dated receipt at /r/<code>: what the page showed, what was claimed, the hash of the offer as read and GAIP's Ed25519 signature. An agent that calls with a GAIP continuity handle gets the receipt bound to that handle, and may pass mandate_ref, its own reference to the shopper's mandate for the purchase. Both are kept only as keyed hashes (handle_hash, mandate_sha256), never in clear and never a name; the handle binding is dropped after 90 days while the receipt still verifies. GAIP's signed record of what this shop's public product page and product data showed at the time shown. It is not a retailer's receipt and not proof of purchase.

The evidence export, for a “not as described” dispute

A party to a receipt (the agent whose handle bound it, or the shop holding its merchant copy) can export GAIP's records about it: GET /v1/free/evidence/export?receipt=<code>&party=<token>, or the MCP tool gaip_evidence_export. The bundle holds the receipt, GAIP's own readings of the product page from 30 days before to 7 days after (with the days it could not read), the shop's agent-commerce file as GAIP indexed it that day, and the mandate hash, signed by GAIP; the field names a card scheme's dispute form uses are named as field names only. Anyone else gets “not a party” and nothing else. Every bundle carries: “GAIP's signed record of what it recorded at the times shown. It is not advice, and not a statement about who is right.”

Use Second Look inside an AI assistant

Second Look is also an MCP server, so an assistant can run the same check while you chat. It needs no account and no sign-in.

Server address: https://www.gaipagents.com/mcp/second-look

In Claude: Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector; name it Second Look, paste the address above and choose no sign-in. In a chat, check it is switched on under +, then ask, for example: "I was told this mug is £24 and in stock: [product link]. Is that right?"

Its two tools (both read-only): second_look_check checks a price, stock or option claim against the shop's own page and returns the result with a signed, dated receipt link; gaip_recall_check looks for a product on the UK (GOV.UK) and US (CPSC) recall lists.

Results are facts at the time shown, not advice. Second Look never recommends or ranks shops and never buys anything. Help: contact.

This shows what the shop published at that moment. It is not advice. Prices and stock change, and can differ by country, tax display and session: check the shop's checkout before you pay. Only the price, stock and option you paste are kept; the rest of the text is discarded. No account, no name. Amazon, eBay and Etsy aren't covered. Privacy · Terms · Corrections and opt-out
